Master in Social Work

Introduction and Aims
The Master’s degree in Social Work aims to provide higher education in terms of study, research and intervention in Social Work, focusing on both in-depth analysis and scientific thinking in areas that are currently relevant for social intervention.

At the end of the course of study the graduate will be able to:
• To deconstruct the discourse and practices of modernity, justifying the importance of broadening the space of possibility suggested by post-modernity, in articulation with the different social problematics;
• To analyze the different familial configurations, its specificities and regularities;
• To characterize demographic ageing and social organization in articulation with the necessary social restructuring;
• To develop a reasoning that properly articulates social policy and the forms of social administration, justifying different points of view;
• To master the fundamental theoretical and operative knowledge in the area of gender studies, presenting the main tendencies and schools of thought, as well as the specific and mutual impacts of that problematic both on private life and on the public sphere.
