Erasmus+ Traineeships

The Erasmus+ Program covers two types of traineeships: traineeships for students and traineeships for recent graduates.

The International Relations Office regularly releases information about available traineeships opportunities. Students may, however, propose to do a traineeship in a company/institution/organization that is previously willing to accept them, according to the conditions indicated below. To do this, they should look for an institution that accepts them and send them a letter of acceptance, indicating the period during which the traineeship will take place. For this purpose, they should contact the institutions directly, sending their curriculum vitae and requesting their acceptance in a traineeship.

In the application process, preference will be given to candidates who have already defined and contacted the company/institution/organization to carry out the traineeship. The application for the mobility grant to carry out an Erasmus+ traineeship will be done after the online application. Applications must be submitted to the IRO.

The objectives of student Erasmus+ mobility for traineeships are:
  • To help students to adapt to EU labor market requirements;
  • To enable students to develop specific skills, including language skills, and improve their knowledge of a country’s economic and social culture and in the context of acquiring work experience;

  • Students can take a traineeship with a minimum duration of 2 months and a maximum duration of 12 months;
  • The same student can apply for mobility periods that do not exceed, together (studies and traineeship), 12 months for each cycle of studies, regardless of the number and type of mobility;
  • Recent graduates can carry out a traineeship with a minimum duration of 2 months and a maximum duration of 12 months, provided that it does not exceed, together with another type of mobility, the 12 months per cycle of studies;

What are the eligibility rules?
Student Mobility for traineeships
  • The student must be enrolled at UFP.
  • UFP must fully recognize the time spent abroad, preferably through ECTS credits. The recognition will be based on the traineeship agreement approved by all parties before the beginning of the mobility period. In the specific case of a traineeship that is not part of the student’s curriculum, UFP will ensure recognition at least mentioning this period in the Diploma Supplement.
Recent Graduates Mobility for Traineeships
  • The application must be done in the last year of the study cycle for which the student wants to apply.
  • Because it is an Erasmus+ traineeship completed after the end of the study cycle, in the case of recent graduates mobility for traineeships there is no official recognition of these mobilities at the end-of-course documents (Certificate/Diploma Supplement).
  • However, an Europass mobility issue is requested in order to recognize the completion of the Erasmus+ Traineeship (document to be filled in both by UFP and the host institution).
